Event
Emergent Generation Summer Gathering 2025
Reconnecting Town and Country
Join Emergent Generation for a three-day gathering that brings together young farmers, growers, advisers, entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers, vets, chefs, artists, educators, campaigners, students, and the curious. All are welcome. If you have an interest in our farming and food system and how we can shape a fairer, greener, and more resilient future, then this event is for you.
Check out the draft agenda here. We’re lining up a unique and impactful three days for you and adding to it all the time.
Expect inspiring talks from leading speakers and practitioners, farm walks, and practical workshops. We will travel off site to visit inspiring agroecological pioneers in action. There will be time and space for conversations that challenge assumptions and spark collaboration. Expect great food and a celebration.
This is the last time we’ll hold this event at Conygree Farm for a while, so don’t miss out!
Contributors confirmed so far include Anna Jones (Just Farmers, journalist and author of Divide), Eric Walters (Good Small Farms – Stroud) and Mallika Basu (food writer, educator and adviser), Silas Hedley – Laurence (Regenerative Farmer | Coach | Consultant), Annie Landless (Ampney Brook Farm), The Long Table, Abbey Home Farm and more! There will be sessions on soil health, regenerative farming and growing, nature friendly farming, enterprise stacking, sustainable food, storytelling, listening and communication skills.
Over the course of the event we will aim to:
- Explore our own perspective on the farming and food system and how they relate to that of others
- Develop our storytelling and communication skills to help promote authentic and positive narratives
- Increase awareness and uptake of sustainable, regenerative, and nature-friendly agricultural practices that deliver for soil, water, air, biodiversity, landscape, and humans
- Discuss how an agroecological mindset can put long-term resilience at the centre of our food system, one that delivers human health, economic viability, and social equity
All are welcome at our events, we love to see faces old and new. You don’t have to have big, bold ideas and we respect that everyone is at a different stage of their journey. By having conversations and sharing experiences, we grow together.
Who is this event for?
If you are 18-35 and passionate about sustainability in the food system, this unique and inspiring event is for you! Join us and learn more about agroecology and regenerative thinking, connect with like-minded people, gain confidence, and share knowledge.
This event is for Emergent Generation members (18-35 years). Places for our members are subsidised. Not a member – join here for free!

About Conygree Farm
Our hosts, National Trust tenant farmers Jonty and Mel Brunyee invite you to Conygree Farm, their 180-acre organic, pasture-fed, and regenerative farm and market garden. We will gather in their giant tipi event space and threshing barn. You are encouraged to stay on site – camping and glamping options are available.
Accommodation
Participants can stay on site at Conygree. Set up your own tent, van or glamp in a luxurious double-bedded bell tent (suitable for single, double, or twin occupancy). If you book a bell tent, all you need to bring is your sleeping bag, pillow, and towel. Campers and glampers at Conygree will have access to water and bathroom and shower facilities. Breakfast is provided. Arrive from 15:00 on Thursday and leave on Sunday morning.
If none of these options suit you, there are plenty of bed & breakfasts and hotels in the area you can book.
Food
Tickets include all your food and refreshments during the event. We use organic food from the farm and the local area where possible. Please tell us your dietary requirements when you book. Just bring your water bottle, an extra snack if you wish, and your own alcohol if you would like a drink by the fire pit.
Travel
You will make your way to Conygree in good time for the start of the event. We encourage you to use public transport or car share where possible. Kingham, Kemble, and Cheltenham are the nearest train stations (all about a 30-minute drive from the farm). Northleach is the nearest town with occasional buses from Cheltenham and Oxford.
We will facilitate lift sharing/station pick ups once we have final numbers and participant details. Let us know you need a lift at registration and we will endeavor to secure a ride for you.
